Overview

Embark on an extraordinary 10-day Himalayan adventure that brings together two of Nepal's most celebrated destinations: the legendary Poon Hill viewpoint and the majestic Annapurna Base Camp sanctuary. This thoughtfully designed itinerary delivers an unforgettable mountain experience while maintaining a comfortable pace suitable for trekkers with moderate fitness levels.

Your journey commences from Pokhara, Nepal's enchanting lakeside city, with a scenic drive through rural landscapes to Nayapul. From here, the trail ascends through charming ethnic villages where the Magar and Gurung communities have thrived for generations. Places like Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, and Chhomrong offer authentic glimpses into traditional mountain life, with stone-built homes, terraced farmlands, and welcoming teahouses dotting the hillsides.

The trail meanders through some of Nepal's most beautiful natural environments. During spring months, the rhododendron forests transform into spectacular gardens of red, pink, and white blooms. Throughout the journey, crystal-clear streams cascade down the mountainsides while ancient forests of oak and bamboo provide shelter and shade.

One of the trek's defining moments comes with the pre-dawn ascent to Poon Hill at 2,875 meters. As the first light of day illuminates the eastern sky, the snow-capped giants of the Himalaya emerge from darkness in a breathtaking display. Annapurna I, Annapurna South, the distinctive fishtail peak of Machhapuchhre, mighty Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, and Nilgiri create a panorama that has captivated travelers for decades.

Beyond Ghorepani, the path leads deeper into the heart of the Annapurna region. The landscape gradually transforms as you climb through Tadapani and Chhomrong, the traditional gateway to the inner sanctuary. Ascending through settlements like Bamboo, Dovan, and Deurali, the lush forests give way to rugged alpine terrain where glaciers and towering rock faces dominate the scenery.

The ultimate reward awaits at Annapurna Base Camp, situated at 4,130 meters within a natural amphitheater of ice-clad peaks. Here, surrounded by some of the world's highest mountains, you'll experience a 360-degree panorama that few places on Earth can match. The sheer scale of the peaks rising overhead creates a profound sense of wonder that stays with travelers long after they return home.

The return journey offers its own rewards, including a rejuvenating soak in the natural thermal springs at Jhinu Danda. These mineral-rich waters, located beside the rushing Modi River, provide the perfect remedy for tired muscles after days of mountain walking. The trek concludes with a comfortable vehicle transfer back to Pokhara, often accompanied by final mountain views on clear days.
